How can we bring the web into the real world?
Augmented reality isn’t new, but access to powerful smartphones and tablet/pocket computers offer more possibilities to push the boundaries of spatial computing than ever before.
In our final semester of GBC’s Interaction Design and Development program, my team and I wanted to make the web tangible. With three months left till graduation we taught ourselves the fundamentals of Three.js. Inspired by Pong, we wrote Corkspin; an experimental game of Table Tennis that exists on a website —and can be played anywhere the user has a smartphone or tablet.
